Instructional Classes / Workshops

As a former instructor at Penn State I have a deep desire to teach and I never have enough opportunities to do so.

Thus, I have begun opening my studio to small classes of about 6 students. The classes run all day on a weekend and include lunch. Students typically stay around even after the official end time to practice or discuss other topics.

Classes form as student interest dictates, but are usually held once a month and cost $25 per student, which includes lunch (typically pizza) and any handouts that may apply to the subject of the day. Prior subjects include portraiture, pets, macro (very popular), and photoshop tricks and techniques (very popular).

Persons interested should contact me to let me know your skill level and what you desire to learn in a class. I try not to mix brand new photographers with highly experienced shooters so that everyone who attends a class is roughly on an even level, but that peer learning can still occur.

If you have previously had me shoot your wedding, then the bride and groom are given one free group class or workshop admission.

Individual instruction is also available at our normal studio session rates of $150. Instead of taking pictures of you, I take pictures with you and we can tackle any subject you desire. These courses are most popular with both the early beginners and the advanced or seasoned amateurs as these two types need the most one-on-one instruction. Those with general skills are often best suited for a group class.
